The Service Today

Welcome to Cedar Ridge!

We are glad you are here and hope you have a good visit with us today. For the first part of our time together, we enjoy tea or coffee and a donut or bagel in the lobby. Please join us—we’d love to greet you and welcome you in person. Our service will get started at 10:00 a.m. and it’s an interactive service for all ages of kids, youth, and adults). First we’ll sing a couple of songs and then we’ll hear some thoughts about the Advent season along with some hands-on activities. This will be followed by communion. You can find out about our current series here.

Everyone is welcome to participate in communion. Gluten-free crackers and grape juice are available at the tables in the middle and at the front of the auditorium. Please feel free to take communion with others gathered round the table or take it back to your seats when we get to that part of the service. During communion, there are various opportunities to respond to God. You can pray (alone or with one of our leaders in the back right corner), light a candle, or write a prayer at one of the side tables. You may like to visit the station for lament in the back right corner, or the racial justice prayer and action stations at the front sides. As you feel led, you may also give a financial gift in the boxes on the sides or in one of the offering towers at the back. Please feel free to respond in the way that feels right for you.

Youth meet upstairs in our historic barn. (Head out of the main doors, and it is the large white building to your far left.) Children begin each Sunday in the auditorium and are invited to head out to their programs before the message. Children’s programs are held in the classrooms here in the main building. We also have an unstaffed nursery with a live Zoom link to the service. Check-in at the children’s desk in the lobby, and we will be happy to direct you.

After the service, you are welcome to stay for “Cedar Ridge in 7 Minutes” in the back left of the auditorium. We would love the opportunity to meet you, give you a brief introduction to our community, and answer any questions you might have.
