Message: “The Big Picture: Kingdom” from Matthew Dyer

Matthew is a wonderful book in which Jesus is revealed in his Jewish context as a great teacher, rabbi and ultimately as the promised messiah. The book is focused around five of Jesus’ sermons (discourses), and we will look at one of these each week as well as some of the accompanying material. We’ll begin with an introduction and overview and end with the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection, followed by his commission to his followers to continue the work of the messiah. Despite its setting in and clear relevance to first century Judaism, we will see how dramatically applicable the message of Matthew is today to anyone daring to dream and struggle for a world of love, peace and hope.

The Big Picture: Gospel

A message from the series “The Big Picture.” Beginning on September 27, our next sermon series is titled, “The Big Picture: Gospel, Kingdom and Church.” During this mini-series, we will look at the defining narrative of what Jesus came to do, exploring concepts we hear a lot in church and addressing questions like ‘what is the gospel? what did Jesus mean  by the kingdom of God? what is the purpose of church?
