Here is a look at what you can expect when you visit Cedar Ridge on a Sunday morning:
When you arrive at Cedar Ridge, you may park in any space. There will be a greeter at the door who can direct you if you have a question and provide you with a bulletin. Feel free to help yourself to a cup of coffee and bagel or donut. You may also make a nametag at the table next to the welcome desk in the commons. You can also fill out a Welcome Card if you would like to find out more about us, and someone will contact you later in the week.
If you have children, the Cedar Ridge Kid’s table is located to your left as you enter the Commons. Most Sundays, younger children (infant through 5th grade) can attend an age-appropriate program while adults are in the service. You can register at the table where you and your child will receive a nametag and a temporary identification number. If you are needed during the service, the number will appear on a monitor above the projection screens, and you can check-in with the volunteer at the Children’s Ministry Table to see what need your child has. When you pick up your child after church, you may turn in your number.
Children of all ages are also always welcome in our main service. If your pre-schooler will be joining you in the service, feel free to borrow a ‘Big Church Bag’ with some quiet toys and activities. The bags are handed out at the Children’s Ministry table. You will see that our service allows time for moving around, as well as being still, and sitting on the floor or stretching your legs around the room are encouraged!
Our Middle and High School groups meet in the barn that is on the right as you approach the building:
Middle School (6th-8th grades) meets in the lower level of the barn
High School meets in the upper level of the barn
MS/HS students meet in the barn for the entire service. Students and parents can agree on where they wish to meet, following the service—either in the barn or back in the main building.
The Sunday morning service begins at 10 AM with a song, brief welcome and prayer, followed by the message and communion. During communion, we invite the community to participate as they feel comfortable. Communion is served at tables in the front or by servers near the side doors. Around the room, you will find stations where you may light a candle, write a prayer, or make a financial offering. Prayer Servants, identified by the badges hanging around their necks, are available in the back corner of the room to pray with you for any need.
After the service, you are welcome to attend Cedar Ridge in 7 Minutes, a brief overview of our church, held in the back left corner of the auditorium as you are exiting the room. You can stop by and ask any questions you may have, and also learn a bit more about who we are, where we have been, and where we are going.
To find out more about how you can get involved at Cedar Ridge, be sure to fill out a Connect Card. The Journey, an introduction to Cedar Ridge, is also offered a few times a year on a Saturday morning. This is a fun and meaningful opportunity to learn more about us, including a closer look at our vision, values and people.
