Recognizing that God has called each of us—in all our uniqueness—to partner in the work of liberation, we will explore opportunities to use our particular skills and temperaments to join with others in taking initiative to address key social issues. As a community, we will focus on three challenges:

  • Poverty and hunger
  • Racial justice and immigration
  • Environmental justice.

Discipleship groups are encouraged to select one of these issues and explore it together using the series materials available in the Commons and online. If you are not in a discipleship group, or are looking for a chance to gather with some other people, attend one of the challenge groups held at Cedar Ridge after the service on Sundays March 17, 24 and 31.  A group for families with children will meet on Sundays March 17 and 31. In addition, a group for high school students will meet in the Barn. These groups, meeting for an hour or so, will provide an opportunity to discuss, pray and commit to action with respect to these important social justice issues.
