When we gather on Sundays, we aim to provide a welcoming and enjoyable environment in which children can explore what it means to follow Jesus. Through art, song, play, prayer, storytelling, service, and conversation, we’ll center our attention on Jesus and how he taught us to live.
Sundays at Cedar Ridge
We meet at 10:00am in the main building on most Sundays. Our nursery provides a comfortable setting for infants and toddlers under two. Preschool groups for children ages two through five meet in Rooms 103 and 104. Elementary students gather in Room 202, and then divide into groups and rooms for K-1st grade, 2nd-3rd grade, and 4th-5th grade.
On occasion, our whole community gathers in the auditorium for All Ages Together services. These services offer a variety of age-appropriate experiences designed to bring children, youth, and adults under one roof to worship and grow together. On these Sundays, “Wiggle Rooms” are also available for parents and young children who need a break from the main service. Specific dates are announced well in advance.
Children and their families also participate in a host of other fun activities on our property throughout the year, such as our Harvest Festival, after-church celebrations, and church-wide serving opportunities.
Our children’s curriculum is custom-made to meet the needs of our community. Often times, children, youth, and adults will address the same topic in age-appropriate ways. This approach allows for continuing conversations at home on matters of spiritual importance. At other times during the year, we’ll study different parts of God’s story, seasonal emphases, or other important and age-appropriate themes.
Through our screening and check-in processes and volunteer policies, we do our very best to ensure a safe place for children and volunteers to interact together in positive, healthy ways. We always welcome new members to our children’s ministry team. Whether you consider yourself a gifted teacher or just someone who likes hanging out with kids, if you are interested in helping children explore what it means to follow Jesus, please contact Bryan Peterson to discuss the possibilities.
