What We’re Doing This Month
In February we continue our discipleship series Origins: An Exploration of the Book of Genesis. This series gives us all an opportunity to examine how we approach the Bible in general as well as helps us develop a deeper understanding of the book of Genesis specifically and how we can apply it to our lives. Each Sunday message addresses a different aspect of the book. There are accompanying discussion questions available each week which are ideal for groups. Pick up a package of introductory material at the table in the commons where you can also sign up if you would like to join a group. Contact Laura Moffitt for more details.

Opportunities to Serve
You can help make our community a friendly and welcoming place by signing up once a month as a greeter. It only means coming 20 minutes early for one service! Contact Kirk Hoffman.
Keeping the property safe and accessible in adverse weather means moving snow off parking lots and sidewalks and salting the surfaces. We have shovels, salt spreaders, snow blowers and a snow plow. If you'd like to join us on the Snow Team in keeping Cedar Ridge open and functioning, contact Kirk Hoffman.
Important Dates
February 17: Prayer Practice
The third Thursday of each month is an opportunity to take time to ease life’s stress. We engage in different methods of prayer that help us to be more deeply aware of God in our lives. All are welcome to join us. No food or childcare. Contact Patsy Fratanduono for more information.
Thursday ∙ February 17 ∙ 7-9PM ∙ Barn
Save These Dates:
March 8: Shrove Tuesday Community Pancake Dinners
Pancake dinners will be held in homes around the area on Shrove Tuesday (aka Fat Tuesday) to celebrate the beginning of Lent. This is a great opportunity to meet others from the Cedar Ridge community who live near you and enjoy dinner together. Participants who sign up will need to bring an item to the dinner, depending on what the host has requested. Please plan to attend the one that is closest to you if possible. Signups begin February 27 on our website and in the commons. For more information contact Laura Moffitt.
Tuesday ∙ March 8 ∙ Dinners in Homes
March 9: Ash Wednesday Service
We will hold a special Ash Wednesday service at 7:00-8:00PM at Cedar Ridge. This will be a traditional service including the imposition of ashes. We hope as many of us as possible will be able to gather together as a community to mark the beginning of Lent. There will be no childcare or children's program; everyone and all ages are welcome to join together in the main service.
Wednesday ∙ March 9 ∙ 7-8PM ∙ Auditorium
Create a Web Account
Our website contains all sorts of information. Signing up for an account gives you access to a variety of email updates, newsletters, groups and more. If you would like to request an account, please visit the website and click on Create New Account, or if you have any questions, contact Laura Moffit . Accounts are generally activated within 24 hours.
New Gospel Choir Needs you!
On February 20 our choir will be leading some gospel worship, and we’d love to have you join in. We rehearse on Tuesday nights, here at the church. We’re asking for a commitment to rehearsing and to singing in two services on February 20. Every age and level of experience – or inexperience – is welcome. We will teach you everything you need to know! Please contact Betsy Mitchell Henning to sign up or find out more.
What Up With the Farm?
While frozen ground means not working the dirt, our farm team is busy with planning for our 2011 season. What's great right now: we've doubled the size of our Core team, we're getting ahead on the planning process, and we've found a local organic farm to mentor us! Even if you're not currently involved, please continue to pray for our farm and look forward to prep and plant in April, followed by our all-church Spring Celebration in May
Something’s Brewing!
Did you know that you can buy bags of Fair Trade coffee from Guatemala right in our commons? Not only does your purchase benefit Guatemalan farmers, but profits will also help fund future youth missions trips to that country. Look for middle schoolers and their leaders at the stand near the front doors.
Weather Cancellations
What happens when a church event is cancelled due to ice and/or snow? Sunday morning closures are announced by 7AM. Evening event cancellations are posted by 5PM. You can find out the current status by checking our website or calling extension 28. Church-wide events will be announced by email to members registered on our website too. If you know we have closed, please help by telling your friends.
Lost and Found
The Lost and Found area at Cedar Ridge can be located on the top shelf of the coat rack across the corridor from the women’s restroom as well as in the labeled box beneath the rack. If you have lost a pair of glasses, please check the green box on the shelf. Contact Pat Martin for any other items you have been unable to find.
