Check out our calendar of events to find out how you can get involved with the Cedar Ridge community.
We will celebrate the mystery and sacredness of Jesus’ suffering and death with a service from 7-8 pm with dramatic readings of scripture, meditation and periods of silence.
Our half-acre organic farm produces vegetables and fruits for local groups that serve the hungry and others in need. We will kick off our seventh year of production with a fun-filled Easter Planting Party. At this time of year when we celebrate new life bursting from the ground, we will prepare the land and sow spring crops. There will be Easter-themed crafts, games, and refreshments for children and the young at heart.Sign up in the commons on Sunday or follow the link below:Sign Up Here!
We will gather together as a whole community to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection, and celebrate his goodness, love and power bringing life to all the world. We will have a service that will be enjoyable for the whole family and appropriate for children of all ages. No separate children’s gatherings.
Saturday, April 4, 9:00-12:30 in the Barn: Upholding One Another As We Pursue Our Life’s Calling, Facilitated by Vike Thurston
Embracing our past and looking forward to a meaningful future, we will learn a model for one-on-one conversations designed to support us in our life’s calling. We will practice this kind of conversation in pairs. To help us continue “sharing life stories” beyond these workshops, we will respond to these questions: Who out of love will desire God’s best for me, walk beside me, and hold me accountable to my life’s purpose? To whom will I offer the same?Sign Up Here!
The Journey is the best way to get an in-depth introduction to Cedar Ridge for those interested in finding out more about our church community. This discussion-based seminar creates space for meaningful conversation over food (brunch is provided) as we join fellow companions in exploring our spiritual journey at Cedar Ridge. We will discuss our vision, values, beliefs and overall approach to spirituality as followers of Jesus. We specifically ask that all those seeking membership first go through the Journey, but all are welcome, including those just exploring as well as long-timers in our community and those who have done Journey in the past. It is especially current and relevant to what is happening at Cedar Ridge now. It is essential to read through all the material ahead of time, so pick up a copy in the commons or download it from our website. For more information contact Sarah Burke or Sign up here.
Please join us after church on Sunday, April 26, to help make gift bags of children’s books for children at Riverdale Elementary, many of whom are from Ipala families. Through this monthly project, every child in the school receives on his or her birthday a special gift which encourages lifelong learning. We welcome donated books, but most of all will enjoy your presence and help with this fun project!
Panel and Round Table Discussions
Due to inclement weather in February, our discussions as part of our series, “Justice for All: Embracing the Message of Amos” during the service, will now take place on April 26. Discipleship groups are encouraged to participate and bring a dish to share. Contact Sarah to sign up or let her know what you will bring.
If you are new to Cedar Ridge and would like to find out more about our church and how you can get involved, we invite you to the Welcome Lunch in room 202, immediately following the service. A light lunch will be served.
