Our winter 2010 discipleship series began on Sunday, January 17 and will extend for 6 weeks. Our Journey of Hope: Following the Dangerous Way of Jesus will focus on our vision, values and philosophy as a community. What makes us the community we are? What are our distinctives? What is important to us and why? What is not important to us? How do all these issues shape us as a community? The series will follow the usual format with Sunday messages and activities and group mid-week meetings using related discussion material around the same themes. Pre-school, elementary, middle and high school students will be focusing on related material that will help our whole community grow in devotion to Jesus and his way of deep love and radical acceptance for others.
Registration for new people to join a winter discipleship group is now closed, but material can be used for self-study or with a friend, or you can put your own group together to delve into the themes of the workbook, which will be available for purchase for $5.00 throughout the series. Look for the next discipleship series in the spring, when new people will be welcome to join a group. Contact Patsy Fratanduono to email or call her at 301-384-7444 ext. 24 for more information.
