During July we begin a seven week series going through the book of Ephesians in the New Testament. In this letter to the newly emerging community of followers of Jesus in Ephesus nearly 2000 years ago, Paul, one of the Apostles of the early church, makes a compelling call to embrace life to the full. He sets out by explaining how much God loves us and how our oneness with God comes through the dynamic presence of the Spirit of Christ within each of us. He then goes on to challenge us to live in the power of this dynamism and to follow Jesus with our whole lives. It is a call to live and experience the Kingdom of God that Jesus declared. It is a call to courageously pursue heaven on earth.
