Join us on our Cedar Ridge High School Fall Retreat to Camp Merryelande (campmd.com).  We have reserved our 24-person lodge that overlooks the Potomac and Chesapeake at Piney Point, MD.  We look forward to a great time and all high school students and their friends are invited to join!

We'll be leaving from the CRCC Barn on Nov. 18 at 5PM.  Then, we'll return to the CRCC Barn on Nov. 20 at 3PM. » Read more

9th Grade Promotion

Students, Parents - please mark your calendars for the fall. We have scheduled our student promotion dates for next year: new 9th graders on Sunday, August 15, and new 6th graders on August 22. Throughout the summer students should remain with their current groups. On their promotion date, students should first report to their current room and allow their leaders to ceremoniously walk them and help welcome them into their new group. If you have any questions, please email Steve Mather for High School or Lisa Dyer for Middle School.

Youth Potluck Lunch

The Middle School and High School students are inviting everyone to a potluck luncheon in the barn on Sunday, August 22, at 12:45PM. We'll share a meal and look at plans for the new school year for both Middle School and High School groups. While this is an important meeting particularly for youth parents and leaders, this will be an opportunity for everyone to connect with the teenagers in our community. Come learn what the youth have in store for next year!

Summer Plans for Youth

For most of the summer the Middle School and High School Youth groups will combine. Here is a brief description of what will be happening over the summer. If you have any questions feel free to contact any of the youth leaders. Happy Summer!!

Sunday August 1st  - working on the farm

Sunday August 8th  - summer games (maybe bring extra clothes!!)

Sunday August 15th - new 9th graders move up to High School

Youth Permission Form

The following is a "General Release/Hold Harmless Agreement" for parents of students wishing to participate in events with the Cedar Ridge Youth Group (high school and/or middle school).  (Nov 2009)

As a parent or legal guardian of the student in question, I agree to the following:

  • DESIRE – The student above desires to participate in the programs, events, or activities (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Activities”) operated or sponsored by the Cedar Ridge Community Church (hereinafter referred to as the “Church”) and its Student Ministries.
  • POSSIBILITY OF INJURY – The student above may incur personal injury or bodily damage while participating in such Activities.

Children & Youth Process Papers

In 2009 we completed an ambitious church-wide process of re-imagining what it means to be a younger person (from birth to teenagerhood) and to be fully a part of the Cedar Ridge Community. We examined questions about Sunday services, small groups, serving, spiritual growth and much more. As a result the Children and Youth Steering Team released a summary and a specific list of recommended changes for our community as a whole.
