If you are currently a discipleship group leader or interested in becoming one, mark your calendar and don't miss these important gatherings designed for pastoral support and discussion and sharing information about our 2010 winter discipleship series “Our Journey of Hope: Following the Dangerous Way of Jesus”.
The material is based on our quarterly Journey seminar, and is focused on our vision, values and philosophy as a community, examining essential questions such as "What makes us the community we are? What are our distinctives? What is important to us and why? What is not important to us? How do all these issues shape us as a community?"
This series begins on Sunday, January 17th extending for five weeks and will involve the whole church with the usual format of Sunday messages and midweek discussion and interactive group material. Signups for groups begin Sunday, January 3rd and continue Sunday January 10th when we will have a church-wide community potluck after second service. The series will end with home-based pancake dinners on Shrove Tuesday, February 16th, the day before Lent begins.
Leader Meetings
Pre-series meetings to distribute and go over the material (leaders must attend one of two identical meetings). A light meal will be served. Please RSVP to Patsy Fratanduono to let us know if you will be leading a group and which of the two pre-series meetings you will be attending:
- Thursday January 7th at 7:00 – 8:30PM
- Sunday January 10th at 8:30 – 10:00AM (during first service)
This promises to be a very exciting and engaging series and a great opportunity for us to grow closer to Jesus and one another.
