As Free as a Bird: Following Jesus Everyday

Logo - Cedar Ridge Community Church

Beginning October 9, our preschoolers and elementary students will take flight into a new series called, "As Free as a Bird:  Following Jesus Everyday."  It's the companion to our community-wide Discipleship Series on the Sermon on the Mount. Through teaching, artwork, skits, nature walks, conversation, and games, we'll be discussing topics such as following Jesus when I'm mad, when I'm holding a grudge, when I want what I can't have, when people make my life hard, when I want more stuff, and when I'm worried.  We'll be learning the "Letting Go Prayer" that will help them deal with struggles at school or home.  We'll also be following the bird theme throughout, as we consider what Jesus meant when he said, "look at the birds of the air...."

Heading Outside:  As weather permits this fall, we may head out on our beautiful property during our Sunday morning times.  Please keep that in mind as your kids get dressed for the day.

Kids and Coffee:  If your child is allowed to drink coffee on Sunday mornings, we ask that you please supervise him or her at the coffee stand.  We want to make sure that any kids who come are actually permitted to be there. We've also noticed some kids taking full cups of half-and-half, which we'd like to save for the coffee drinkers.  Thanks for your cooperation.

A note about bagels, too:  If you have a child who eats bagels or donuts here on Sunday morning,  ideally they can be finished before joining the rest of the group in their classroom.  That's especially true if they're enjoying a bagel with cream cheese, as we do have a child with a strong allergy to cream cheese.  Thanks!

All Ages Together on October 23 - Harvest Festival:  We'll have one service only at 10am on Oct 23 as we'll be celebrating the farm with our annual harvest festival.  The service will have special activities for children (toddlers included) so we hope that you'll plan to be here for this special service.  We'll have a fun-filled picnic outside (hopefully) afterwards, including games, spreading hay on the farm, and a hayride.

Sunday Morning Helpers Needed:  In order to provide the kind of relational ministry to children that we desire, we need a few more helpers to serve occassionally on Sunday morning.  If you're interested in serving in the nursery, preschool, elementary groups, or being on our "sub" list, please contact Bryan Peterson at bry...@crcc.org.

Thanks for your ongoing partnership in helping children follow Jesus.  Have a wonderful fall!
